THE FOUNDER
Camilla Turner founded theshop.co.uk in 2009 and has worked in the Fashion Industry for over ten years.
She landed her first job as Fashion Editor for clubbing bible Mixmag back in 2000. A freelance fashion stylist for six years, she now works in editorial, advertising, brand promotion and TV commercials. Client credits include Nike, Smirnoff, The Sunday Times Travel, Neo2 and style bible Amelia’s magazine. She has worked with the UK’s biggest record labels and styled artists as diverse as Kelis, Franz Ferdinand, Girls Aloud and Katie Melua.
Over the years, having built up a portfolio of varied and unique shoots, she proved to have a keen eye for detail. Her flair for surprising and delightful accessorizing often led her to source the jewellery even before the clothes.
‘I often found myself scribbling down jewellery designers’ websites and shop details on notes for friends, models and clients. They all wanted to know where they could buy them and loved the mix of designers I used in shoots’.
Camilla also feels strongly that designer style should not always come with a hefty designer price tag.
‘If my years as a stylist have taught me anything it’s that a great look doesn’t have to come from spending a fortune. With a bit of insider knowledge, designer style is accessible to all pockets. I find it exciting to help my clients find fresh, unique designers from all over the world whose work doesn’t cost the earth’.
